Karin Verstralen joins Investing for Peace as Peace Impact and ESG Director

Investing for Peace has appointed Karin Verstralen as Peace Impact and ESG Director. She joins from FMO, the Dutch development bank, where she was part of the Impact and ESG management team responsible for implementing the bank’s impact and ESG ambition across sectors and for leading its business and human rights agenda.

“Impact in fragile settings is not a reporting exercise, it is the investment case. What drew me to Investing for Peace is that peace outcomes sit at the centre of how capital is deployed rather than at the edges. I am delighted to help build that discipline from the start.”Karin Verstralen, Peace Impact and ESG Director
“Karin has spent her career making impact and human rights standards work inside real transactions, not alongside them. For a platform whose whole premise is that investment can be peace-positive, having her help develop our peace impact approach and lead its implementation is a significant step forward.”Pierre Van Hoeylandt, Chief Executive
